SMTP Service
The SMTP protocol (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is the standard protocol to send e-mail through the internet. All Hostbasket dedicated servers can be used as SMTP server if configured correctly.
Many server administrators are not willing to activate the SMTP service because of the risks related to the installation of an SMTP service. By installing this service, hackers might use the server as an SMTP relay server to send non-traceable mails or spam. As a result, the server will become slow or unserviceable and your e-mails will not be delivered anymore, as the server’s IP address is blacklisted.
The SMTP service for dedicated servers enables you to send server mails from your dedicated server using the Hostbasket SMTP servers. The outgoing e-mails will be filtered through a spam filter which reduces the risk of being blacklisted. Moreover, your server will not be overloaded during message sending process.
Hostbasket offers two packages :
- SMTP service for automated mails
