IronPort set the tone in the field of spam control. Its solution is based on information collected over 100000 networks (e.g. Gmail and Hotmail). About 30% of the world wide e-mail traffic is analyzed via IronPort scanners, so they can precisely trace spam mail. The working is based on ‘Send Reputation’, on the reputation of the e-mail sender.
If the reputation of the e-mail sender is bad, he will be penalized and his reputation level will go down. On the basis of the ‘Sender Reputation’ all 100% spam e-mails will be locked. This is the first filtering.
Furthermore the e-mails will also be checked on other parameters as the content (e.g. the presence of certain words, the location of sending etc).
