URL forwarding

If you don’t host your website with Hostbasket (e.g. on your free Telenet web space), you have to let your Hostbasket domain name refer to that web space. This is called URL forwarding. You can set up this link for free via your MyAccount control panel.
For example, you wish to visit the website www.janschepens.be, but in fact it resides at users.telenet.be/janschepens.

Hostbasket web hosting, however, offers you many extra functionalities:

Email forwarding

If you wish to use an existing email address with another provider (e.g. your free Telenet email address), you have to let your Hostbasket email address (@yourdomain) refer to it. This is called email forwarding. You can set up this link for free via the MyAccount control panel.
For example, you wish to refer info@janschepens.be to jan.schepens@telenet.be.

Use of our name servers

Every domain name refers to the right server, thanks to the use of name servers. Hostbasket makes its name servers available for free when you register a Hostbasket domain name. In addition you can adjust a number of DNS records yourself. ( TXT-records, A-records, MX records, CNAME records).
