You can select the storage capacity based on the amount of data on your computer or server. If you have 20 GB of data, a storage solution of 10 GB could suffice, thanks to the compression tool built into the software. In addition, Online Backup makes incremental backups (only of changed files or changes in a file). This way your network is not burdened with sending redundant information and making backups will be fast.
100% safe thanks to encryption
As soon as data is situated in an unsafe area (like the internet), it is possible for people with technical knowledge to gain illegal access to this data.
That is why Hostbasket Online Backup uses data encryption: data is coded (encrypted) before it leaves your computer and decoded when you restore it on your computer. This traffic passes over a secured SSL connection.
This way, the data that is being sent over the internet and saved on the backup server in the data centre become completely illegible. You will not notice this data encryption yourself; everything is done fully automatically. Hostbasket Online Backup uses the AES-protocol (Advanced Encryption Standard) for data encryption. The AES-algorithm codes and decodes data in blocks of 128-bits or 256-bits. With this form of data encryption, data traffic and data storage with Hostbasket Online Backup is very safe and the data is only accessible for individuals who are authorized (yourself).
Peace of mind thanks to automatic backups
In the Hostbasket Online Backup Client you set up once at what frequency and of wich files the backups will be made after which all backups will be made automatically. Backups can run, daily, weekly or monthly. It couldn’t be easier!
Easily restored
Restoring your data is just as simple as creating a backup. You can easily browse through files that have been saved on the backup server and restore the desired data yourself. The data on the backup server has retained the original folder structure; therefore you can not only restore the individual data, but also the original file structure.
Go back into time thanks to version control
In the Hostbasket Online Backup Client you can indicate how many versions of the data have to be saved. If you make a daily backup, for example, and indicate that you want to save 30 versions, you can always have access to the file version of the past month.
Powerful online control panel
You can manage your backups on any computer with an internet connection. This way, you always have access to your files, even abroad. Besides a tool for restoring your files, the control panel also offers you an overview of the status of previous backups.
Exchange and MS SQL support
Hostbasket Online Backup can make an automatic backup of your Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft SQL Server. Exchange and SQL Servers are continually operational. Hostbasket Online Backup can make a backup of the Exchange and SQL database without interrupting those operational processes, even during the "backup window".
