Mail Plus mailboxes
Every Hostbasket web hosting package includes a number of mailboxes. They provide the possibility to send and receive emails via an email program, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, etc., or via online webmail. Each mailbox has 100 MB of storage capacity. This is not at the expense of your web space or databases.
You can always increase the number of mailboxes up to 20 for Linux Intro and even up to 400 for Linux Advanced! When you are looking for even more functionalities, such as sharing calendars, tasks and contact data, we also provide Office Mail, based on the Microsoft Exchange technology.Click here for an overview of the options.
Spam/virus filter
Worldwide email traffic is bombarded on a daily basis with an excess of viruses and unwanted emails. Hostbasket scans your emails for viruses and spam before they arrive in your mailbox. This allows us to keep your mailbox free from unwanted messages and viruses, without any extra investment in software or hardware by you. The filters are continuously updated and maintained by us.

Hostbasket webmail
Via a computer with internet connection, you can read and send emails anywhere in the world (including attachments), thanks to Hostbasket webmail.

SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is the standard protocol for sending e-mails through the internet. Your e-mail software mostly uses your internet provider's SMTP server (Telenet, Skynet, Scarlet, ...). When you use the Telenet SMTP server you are limited to the Telenet internet connection, for Skynet you need a Belgacom connection, etc. When you are abroad you often don't have access to both the server and the internet connection. Therefore we offer you the free use of the Hostbasket SMTP server. Our SMTP server can be accessed anywhere, enabling you to send e-mails wherever you are, even abroad.
Out-of-office (automatic reply)
Activate the Out-of-Office function when you can temporarily not check or reply to emails. The sender of the email will receive an automatic message (of which you can determine the content).
