PHP 5.2

PHP stands for "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor". This is a server-side language, so that the PHP code is executed on the server, and not in the browser, as with HTML, CSS and "JavaScript". It is a programming language that you can use to build web pages dynamically, using variables.

Thanks to Windows Server 2008 you can now also use PHP 5 on our Windows web hosting packages.

PERL

Perl is a programming language (script language) that combines properties of C and UNIX script languages such as SH, SED and AWK. Therefore Perl is very appropriate to replace the traditional UNIX shell scripts because it contains lots of possibilities to use regular expressions and to use object-oriented, procedural or even functional programming. It is the Swiss knife among the programming languages.

PHP Memory Limit

The PHP memory limit is the maximum memory capacity that can be used by a PHP script when it is executed. If a CMS (content management system) with modules/extensions/plug-ins is used (e.g. Drupal, Joomla…), or if your site is generating a lot of traffic, you may run the risk of running out of memory. You can also have a problem when resizing images with gdlib or when you are using large data structures.
